This program provides lunch time supervision to children between the morning and afternoon ECE and or Kindergarten sessions. It is a safe, fun learning environment promoting socialization and group play. This program is for children ages four and five years old at select KC sites. Break Camps and Dismissal Day Care KC Camp and Dismissal Day care offers children safe, fun and positive experiences.We encourage youngsters to participate in group activities that develop creativity, communication and a sense of teamwork. We believe camp and Dismissal Day should be fun, whether it's your child's first or third time with us! Our all day programming may include special projects, guest speakers and field-trips. Break Camps and Dismissal Days are not a part of regular programming. Seperate registration and tuition is required for these services. Out of the Box Hey KC kids, do you want to be a spy, an astronaut, an oceanographer or a veterinarian? Want to find out what it’s like to live in Japan, South Africa or Mexico? Did you ever wonder what it would be like to lose the use of one of your five senses? Are you interested in learning to do magic or pretending to be a wizard, or a fairy? These are just a few of the 30 plus themes KC kids will get the opportunity to explore with our traveling prop box program. Filled with dramatic play props, cool toys, books, costumes, disguises, games and super activities, each of these prop boxes will visit our KC school sites for a period of two weeks. Look for the prop boxes at your KC site! Dream Makers A multifaceted visual arts program developed by Crayola, provides Kaleidoscope Corner with a wide variety of standards arts based activites that complement academic education achievement in the areas of science, social studies, diversity, visual arts and character education. Kaleidoscope Corner kids have the opportunity to explore a number of excitiong topics including relationships with other, different cultures and their histories and respect of differences. The program supports educational goals and encourages teamwork and collaboration between peers. All lessons include a discussion starter, reflection and background information to give the children a better understanding of the activity. CATCH/Team Builders The Coordinated Approach To Children's Health (CATCH) program offers non-competitive physical games and activities that complement our nutrition program to provide healthy recreational options for all Kaleidoscope Corner kids. Kaleidoscope Corner staff will supplement this program with Team Builders, a series of stimulating team building activities focusing on group problem solving and cooperative skills building. These activities support and promote a sense of belonging and program ownership amongst Kaleidoscope Corner kids and staff. Nutrition Through a partnership with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, select KC sites receive a full school year of fun activities and curriculum on preparing delicious and nutritious snacks. The Nutrition Program operates one day per week during the After School program. This is a teacher-lead activity, with a 1:12 ratio, and the children have a choice to participate. The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center provides all materials, supplies and food for this program. KC sites will be utilizing this program will attend an annual staff training provided by UCHSC.
